A Walk in the Park – The Memorials of Maitland Park
Overview
The Maitland Park War Memorial, erected in 1922, stands as a solemn tribute to the sons and daughters of Maitland who served across many theatres of war.
The War Memorial dominates the park’s central vista , but it is just one of 15 major memorials in the park honouring monarchs, mayors, sportspeople and other local civic achievers from over a century of local history.
The monuments form a rich tapestry of acknowledgement, reflecting Maitland’s deep civic pride and long history of remembrance.
Join historian Kevin Short for a reflective walking tour that brings these stories to life.
