Maitland Gaol

Junior Sleuth – Slammer Slang

Overview

When Maitland Gaol was open, prisoners had to communicate in pretty interesting ways to make sure officers don’t know what they’re talking about. During these school holidays you can learn some of these tricks.

Once you have had a captain cook (look) around the Gaol with a tour guide, see if you can decipher some slammer slang. You can then use it in a sentence to baffle your parents.
