Join Maitland Libraries as we dive into the wonderful world of coats of arms. We’ll take a close look at the Australian Coat of Arms and even discover Maitland’s very own coat of arms. You’ll learn about the quirky rules, traditions and creative ideas that go into making these amazing symbols.
Then it’s your turn! After learning all the fun details, roll up your sleeves and create a bright, colourful coat of arms of your own—full of personality, imagination and meaning.
In commemoration of 125 years of Australia’s Federation, Maitland City Council has launched a dedicated exhibition that brings Maitland’s unique Federation story to life. This curated experience offers a local lens on a defining moment in Australia’s history, showcasing how national change was reflected and shaped within our own community.
Catch the exhibition in the foyer of the Maitland Administration Centre running from Monday 5 January – Wednesday 28 January.
