The Gallery’s Winter Season Celebration

Overview

Councillor Loretta Baker, Mayor of the City of Maitland, the Councillors of Maitland City Council together with Gerry Bobsien, Director Maitland Regional Art Gallery invite you to the Gallery’s Winter Season Celebration.

Join the excitement as we launch our Winter Season including new exhibitions: Shadow Boxer, Just Not Australian, Barka: The Forgotten River, and Impressions of a Journey: Landscapes Between Walcha and Patterson.

The night begins with a Wonnarua Welcome to Country by Aunty Sharon Edgar Jones. Our Winter Season will then be opened by Cr Loretta Baker, Mayor of the City of Maitland, and Gallery Director, Gerry Bobsien.

Stay and hear from Dhungatti artist Blak Douglas as he performs Yidaki and shares insights with Chad Ritchie Sands, Grandson of Aboriginal champion fighter David Sands, or listen to live music by The Illume Girls as they share emotive stories through song, in Yolngu Matha and English.

Then be the first to experience four new exhibitions or explore our Gallery Shop for items tied linked to the artists, works and concepts on display while you enjoy a complimentary refreshment thanks to our sponsors The Pourhouse and Tyrrell’s Wines.
