For the past 30 years Australian Photographer, Brett Leigh Dicks, has been photographing the world’s natural and urban landscapes etched with traces of human history. His latest project has taken him all over the world to photograph decommissioned prisons and he has finally had the opportunity to complete a series in his homeland. The exhibition explores eight different prisons spread across Australia that include Maitland Gaol, Adelaide Gaol, Fremantle Prison, HM Prison Geelong, J Ward Ararat, Old Dubbo Gaol, Parramatta Gaol and Port Arthur.
Entry to this exhibition is part of any self guided audio tour at Maitland Gaol. For more information head to their website.
