Visit Berkley Street, Morpeth and sit back and enjoy Poetry Al Fresco.
Students from years 4, 5 and 6 are invited to pop over to Morpeth straight after school with family and friends to join the event. Students will have the opportunity to read poetry to a live audience. (Primary students of any age are welcome to come along and participate, so if you have younger poets, that’s fine.)
It will be relaxed and fun and an opportunity to read some poems and cheer each other on.
Poets are encouraged to read their own poetry and are also welcome to read other people’s poetry. They may want to read a poem they have discovered at school OR they may want to read a poem for a friend who is too shy to get up to the mic.
The Primary School Poetry will start from 3.30pm until 4.30pm At Berkley Street Morpeth.
From 5.00pm until 7.00pm Al Fresco Poetry will bring you some wonderful poets from around the Hunter, including some of our own Maitland Verses Poets and others. Get comfy and listen to the poets read to you as they create a very special event.
