Cintra – an iconic Maitland House

Cintra, a magnificent residence designed by JW Pender was built for Benn Levy in 1878.

The house has undergone many uses over the years and is noted for its links to the famous Jewish merchant families of Levy and Cohen, Maitland’s Jewish community, Maitland’s commerce and social history.

The exhibition will document its history, the architect, the families who lived there and its association with Maitland’s growth and history.

Also on show spectacular clothes worn by Cintra families.
