Following on from the highly successful Church Street Dramas of 2018, The Friends of Grossmann House invite the public to take a walk down the eastern side of High Street in March, to experience just some of the graphic stories of Maitland’s past.
Follow the players, as we stand in the places where sensational crimes, stirring speeches and a few tricks were played out, hearing almost first hand, the details of a number of the stories which form the proud history of our place and its community.
In collaboration with the Maitland Repertory Theatre, the Friends of Grossmann House, offer this stirring street theatre piece, on the weekends of March 9 & 10, 16 & 17, 23 & 24 with a 5.00pm start outside the theatre at the corner of High and James Streets, concluding at Brough House, 73 Church Street, Maitland for a sumptuous supper at 6.30pm.
All proceeds go towards the ongoing maintenance of the National Trust properties – Grossmann and Brough Houses, and to the Maitland Repertory Theatre.
Some uneven walking. You could bring a small stool.
