Come to visit the National Trust’s Maitland properties – Grossmann & Brough Houses, as they open for the beginning of a brand new year.
For the first time, the Victorian period Grossmann House museum will be showing off a brand new look, as the most of the period artworks are replaced for a 3 month period, with contemporary artworks by local artist Deborah van Heekeren in her exhibition titled “Disruption”.
Also on show at Brough House, we are privileged to have on loan, historic John Lewin bird prints and moth and butterfly prints of the Scott Sisters. These are courtesy of a local Hunter collector.
For those not able to get to this event, the Disruption and historic print exhibitions will be on view on the second Sunday of the month finishing in May. Our Open Day will also have a bric- a-brac stall, and refreshments for sale during the day. All proceeds from the day go towards the ongoing maintenance of our two properties.
