Terra Madre Day – 30 Years of the Slow Food Manifesto

We are delighted to be celebrating Terra Madre (Mother Earth) Day, combined with “30 Years of the Slow Food Manifesto – Our Food, Our Planet, Our Future” – the journey of Slow Food so far, and raise funds for its worldwide projects to protect biodiversity.

At a time when many challenges face our farming and food communities, we will slow and celebrate the considerable achievements of the Slow Food Hunter Valley community.

This evening will also contribute to Slow Food’s 2020 objectives of:
Bring 600 new foods on board the Ark of Taste
Launch 30 new Slow Food Presidia
Create 300 new Gardens in Africa
Open 15 new Earth Markets

Amorelle, from Readers Cafe & Larder, will serve us a delicious, seasonal meal with produce provided from our local farmers.

This is also an opportunity to say thank you to the volunteers who meet regularly at Readers Cafe & Larder to prepare meals for members of the community who are doing it tough.

The ticket price includes a small donation towards Slow Food’s 2020 campaign of “Our Food, Our Planet, Our Future”, and a complimentary glass of wine from Macquariedale Organic Wines.

WINE: Macquariedale Organic Wines will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle.
