A group of Maitland artists have banded together to create works that reflect the plight of New South Wales as it battles with the worst drought in living memory.
The artists are members of the inclusive art group Inside Out, hosted by Maitland Regional Art Gallery.
The exhibition will be taking place at Brough House (National Trust) in Maitland. The artists will present various forms of artwork from paintings to sculptures. The exhibition will be opened by CWA president Barbara Heckman at 6.00pm on Friday the 23 November.
‘Everyone is welcome’, said Bernadette Rennie, ‘we’d love to see as many community members there as possible!’
As well as displaying their work, the Inside Out artists are committed to fundraising for the Country Women’s Association.
A percentage of the price of artworks sold will be donated to CWA to assist them in the important work they do in supporting regional and rural families.
The artists taking part in Waiting for Rain are Karen Carrejo, Sue Cone, Sinead Darby, Helen Fenner, Sharron Reid, Billie Mosman and Alexandra Rennie, with the exhibition curated by Helen Tucker.
