Reconnecting Maitland will deliver a range of new events and provide a significant boost to existing events as part of the NSW Governments, Reconnecting Regional NSW – Community Events Program.

Maitland Events will present a series of community focused events, each with each a different theme that aims to increase community connection and draw visitation to the city.  The program will support community and business collaboration across the city, with themes for the program to include Play, Connect, Create and  Sustainability.

Make it Maitland – Lets skate is a fun, family friendly community event, which supports our theme of ‘Play’.

The event will feature a 20mx20m rollers skating rink, offering the community the opportunity to connect and play in a fun and safe environment in Central Maitland.

The roller rink will be activated from Friday night to Sunday afternoon and be supported by a range of supplimentary activities including food trucks, lawn / table top games, live music and DJ’s, theming around rink e.g. festoon lights and engaging activity/installations encouraging “play”

make it maitland - COMMUNITY PICNIC

Make it Maitland – Community Picnic will be a large community picnic with ample food trucks to supports our theme of ‘Connect’.

Connection will be emphasised through the use of a long picnic table to promote different groups sitting next to each other, in the beautiful surrounds of Maitland Park. Visitors will be encouraged to connect with friend, family or to come along and meet someone in their community.

The event will be styled with furniture and theming and feature live music, photo backdrops, and a selection of quality food and beverage vendors.
