 Getting to Maitland by train

Two services that pass through Maitland, including Cityrail and NSW TrainLink Regional.

For Cityrail from Sydney, you can hop on the Newcastle & Central Coast Line towards Hamilton, where you will hop off and interchange to the Hunter Line towards Maitland. On the Hunter Line there are multiple stops in Maitland, including Thornton, Metford, Victoria Street (East Maitland), East Maitland, High Street, Maitland and Telarah. These services generally operate between every thirty minutes to an hour. So you will need to know which is best for you.

NSW TrainLink Regional service departs from and arrives in Sydney Central Station via Maitland once a day. Trips with this service must be booked before departure through a ticketing agent.
