The beloved Burton Automotive Hunter Valley Steamfest celebrates the Hunter’s industrial heritage with a weekend full of train locomotives, antique machinery, classic cars and family fun.

Set in the heart of Maitland at the Maitland Train Station, you can hear the hustle and bustle of the steam and diesel engines as they constantly pull into the station for their trip to many destinations. Children and adults alike will thrill from seeing and hearing the steam and locomotives up close.

On Sunday, the annual Great Train Race sees two locomotives race a Tigermoth from Newcastle Interchange to Maitland Station. Book your spot in the race or be mesmerised, watching the trains and aeroplane at the finish line.

Other exciting activities remain for the whole family with market stalls, a Show ‘n’ Shine with over 100 cars, live music, Meet the Makers, miniature train rides, amusement rides, and much more. There is plenty of fun to be had by all!
