Bengali Storytime – Bonobibi and the Sundarbans

Bengali Storytime – Bonobibi and the Sundarbans

Overview

Join us for a magical morning inspired by Bonobibi, The Lady of the Forest, and the incredible Sundarbans mangrove forest of Bangladesh and India. Through a short retelling of this beautiful Bengali folk story we’ll explore community, courage and caring for the natural world.

Then it’s time to get creative. Children and adults will work together to craft a colourful model mangrove forest, drawing trees and adding forest creatures including deer, tigers, birds, fish, honeybees and crocodiles. We’ll also fold and decorate paper boats to sail along the waterways, creating one wonderful shared forest scene inspired by the magic of the Sundarbans.

Free family event. Bookings are essential and numbers are strictly limited.

Please book for each child attending, and please notify us if you are unable to attend.
