Ancient Letters: Elena Kats-Chernin AO and Tamara-Anna Cislowska in Concert – Maitland
Overview
Two pianists, one piano, four hands. Composer Elena Kats-Chernin AO and ARIA award-winning pianist Tamara-Anna Cislowska close their Ancient Letters regional tour at Maitland Town Hall. The concert is presented by Music in the Regions with the Combined Rotary Clubs of Maitland, and it is a fundraiser for the HealthStays project.
You may already know Elena’s music: Eliza Aria, Russian Rag from Mary and Max, and the score for the Oscar-nominated Memoir of a Snail. Tamara has recorded eleven number one albums and presents Duet on ABC Classic.
They have played together since 1995 and play from sketches rather than a finished score, rebuilding each piece live, so no two concerts are the same.
