Clay Workshop – Pinch Pots & Sgraffito Fun. Ages 8 –12
Overview
The Clay workshop offers children the opportunity to learn how to make their own small bowl using the pinch pot technique, which is one of the oldest and most satisfying ways to shape clay by hand. Step by step, they will pinch and form their clay into a beautiful little bowl to take home with pride.
Once the bowls are shaped, it’s time to decorate. The children will explore the sgraffito technique, scratching patterns and pictures into the clay surface using toothpicks and wooden sticks. From swirls and zigzags to stars and secret symbols, everyone can design a piece that’s uniquely their own.
This workshop is perfect for young makers who love to get their hands messy and bring their imagination to life.
No experience needed with all materials provided. Suitable for ages 8 to 12 years of age.
Bring along an art smock or wear old clothes, you might get messy.
