Performance and Storytelling with Toby, Elijah and Brayden Cedar

Overview

Artist Toby Cedar accompanied by his sons Elijah and Brayden will bring to life the stories behind the works in Tobys’s exhibition Mir Giz Kemerkemer Opged Lam Zenadh Kes (Stories from Eastern Islands Torres Strait) through song and dance.

The artworks in the exhibition draw on the ancestral stories handed down through family and shared by Toby in traditional and contemporary art forms in sculpture, carvings and new technologies looking at histories of masks, headdresses, myths and legends.
