Zine Workshop Rough Draft Society – East Maitland Library

Zine Workshop Rough Draft Society – East Maitland Library

Overview

Celebrate creativity and connection while drawing attention to a cause or idea to be shared with others.

Gaining popularity in the 1930’s zines have thrived underground and on the fringes of popular culture. Their popularity with activists and young people is spurred by their DIY nature and punk rock vibes.

Join this workshop to get the basic ‘how to’ of zine construction and then make your own zine. Whatever the topic, zines get the word out.

Attendees are invited to submit their completed pieces for display in May 2026.

Materials provided but feel free to bring your own.
