If you have a tourism event or business you would like to promote, we have a number of ways you can reach your target audience.

mAKE IT MAITLAND Marketing program

To assist in the recovery of the local visitor economy, staff have worked with industry to develop a three phase Make it Maitland marketing program, that will be delivered between November 2021 and June 2022.

The first phase was a Recovery Campaign targeting parts of regional NSW from November to December 2021. This campaign strived to stimulate immediate travel intent and increase visitor spend. The call to action for this campaign was www.makeitmaitland.com.au.

The second phase was a Summer Campaign targeting residents, visiting friends and relatives, and parts of regional NSW from December to February. This campaign strived to increase visitor spend and participation in the summer events program. The call to action for this campaign was www.mymaitland.com.au/summer.

The third phase was a Tactical Campaign delivered in partnership with the NSW Government through Destination NSW. This campaign targeted the two to three hour drive market including Great Sydney, and was in market from February and May. This campaign strived to increase destination awareness, stimulate travel intent, drive bookings and increase visitor spend. The call to action for this campaign was www.makeitmaitland.com.au. Local visitor economy businesses are encouraged to get involved in upcoming campaign activity and to contact staff via phone or email to discuss collaborative marketing opportunities.

Travelers across the globe use the Tripadvisor site and app to browse more than 859 million reviews and opinions of 8.6 million accommodations, restaurants, experiences, airlines and cruises.

By creating an account with Tripadvisor, not only will you increase your exposure, but you will also be able to monitor and manage reviews in a timely fashion.

Google my business

Google My Business is a free tool that allows you to promote your Business Profile and business website on Google Search and Maps. With your Google My Business account, you can see and connect with your customers, post updates to your Business Profile and see how customers are interacting with your business on Google.

The popularity of social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram should not be overlooked when considering ways in which you market you business. As part of the NSW First Program, Destination NSW held a series of webinars aimed at helping operators get the most out of the platform.
