Event Attraction

Maitland City Council is committed to working with local businesses, community and sporting groups to attract events to Maitland. A range of assistance is available.

Maitland City Council recognises the social and economic benefits of hosting events in our beautiful city, and the vital role they play in attracting over 800,000 visitors to Maitland each year.

In line with Maitland’s Destination Management Plan and Council’s Operational Plan for 2022 – 2023, Council is particularly interested in attracting significant sporting and cultural events to the area.

Whether you are looking for assistance preparing a bid, want to know what funding opportunities are available, or are seeking a letter of support from Council, there is a range of assistance available for event organisers.

Local businesses, community and sporting groups considering bidding for an event are encouraged to reach out to Simon Farrow, Maitland City Council’s Visitor Economy Officer via phone (02 4934 9819) or email [email protected]
