The Dr Morse’s Indian Root Pills signage on the side of a shed in East Maitland is an iconic building for locals and visitors a like.
One of only two surviving examples in New South Wales of an early steel Pratt truss bridge.
Fun fact: Luskintyre Bridge was used as a set location during the filming of the movie Tomorrow When The War Began.
MORPETH AVENUE OF TREES
Head to the township of Morpeth to find a row of beautiful brush box trees opposite the historic St James’ Anglican Church. Perfect for a ride, walk or picnic near by.

WALKA WATER WORKS
Get your lens ready to photograph some amazing nature shots and local wildlife. Kangaroos and wallabies frequent the reserve and over 140 species of birds are regularly spotted here. Be sure to pack a picnic to enjoy in the grounds after your exploring expedition.
THE RURAL LANDSCAPE

The gates have been unlocked at Maitland Gaol for you to discover the history and stories of incarceration. Visitors are invited to ‘serve time’ learning about the facility, past prisoners and daring escapes.
