Coalfields Steam 2022

Overview

Queens Birthday weekend is our Coalfields Steam event, which includes a run by our demonstration coal train with the historic wooden coal wagons.
The big train runs virtually on demand, with a short return journey on our branch line, hauled by our steam locomotive. Our miniature railway will also be operating. Both of these offer unlimited rides once you have entered the museum.
We will also have several model railways on display, as well as many model steam driven machines. One of the model railways will be a U-drive layout with a large scale Thomas the Tank Engine. Your children will be welcome to have a go at this.
Our mining museum will also be open, with archival films being shown.
