Federation 125: Maitland’s Federation Story

In commemoration of 125 years of Australia’s Federation, Maitland City Council has launched a dedicated exhibition that brings Maitland’s unique Federation story to life.

This curated experience offers a local lens on a defining moment in Australia’s history, showcasing how national change was reflected and shaped within our own community.

Visitors are invited to explore a range of historical moments from both pre and post Federation, discovering the people and events during this transformative period. The exhibition features a selection of significant objects, photographs and documents, alongside video content that helps connect past experiences with the present day.
